Kerala cable operator plugs in wrong pendrive, broadcasts porn at Kalpetta bus depot

Hundreds of passengers waiting at Kalpetta bus stand in Kerala's Wayanad district were left utterly shocked and embarassed after a television monitor that was used for showing advertisements showed pornography, reports The Hindustan Times.

A Reddit user going by the name 'dark0range' who had witnessed the incident posted about it on Wednesday on Reddit/India.

According to the user, the video went on full 30 minutes at the state-run bus depot on Tuesday before the passengers  at the bus depot maneged to shut it off. The operator's room was locked and the power source was not found. The passengers also tried to put a cloth on the screen but the sounds were still emanating which the passengers could not turn off, the Reddit user reported. 

The TV was finally turned off after someone stuck down the power cable.

The police caught the 38-year old cable operator, Manzoor  who said that he had plugged the wrong pen drive. "A case has been registered. The accused was arrested and his computer seized," Kalpetta circle inspector KK Abdul Shereef told Hindustan Times.

Manzoor was produced before court on Wednesday. He was booked under section 292 of the Indian Penal Code (obscene and indecent advertisement and display), the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, and various sections of the Information Technology Act.
