Kerala: 56 passengers injured after two KSRTC buses collide

An Ernakulam-Thiruvananthapuram Express bus hit an oncoming Chalakkudy-Thiruvananthapuram bus.

Two KSRTC buses travelling on the MC road collided at Vettinad near Vattappara. A report in The New Indian Express states that 56 passengers were injured as a result, with six people injured seriously. The injured have been admitted to the Medical College Hospital and the Vattappara police have registered a case.

The accident occurred at 12 30 pm when the driver of the Ernakulam-Thiruvananthapuram Express bus lost control and hit the brakes. Unfortunately, the bus swerved into the opposite lane and hit an oncoming Chalakkudy-Thiruvananthapuram bus. 

Some of the passengers have been taken to private hospitals as well. Many of them were treated at Medical College Hospital.
