Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan today urged Defence Minister Arun Jaitley to do all that was possible to trace the two missing IAF pilots of Sukhoi-30 fighter jet, which crashed shortly after takeoff from Tejpur on Tuesday.
Chief minister made this request in a message to Jaitley.
Though the aircraft's wreckage was found, there were no reports about the two pilots, one of whom Squadron leader Achudev is from Kerala.
On hearing about the mishap, his parents have left for Tejpur, Vijayan said and requested that all necessary help should be provided to them.
The IAF today ordered a court of inquiry to probe the cause of crash of the fighter jet, which had gone missing after taking off from the Tezpur Salonibari air force station in Assam on Tuesday while on a routine training sortie.
The aircraft had lost radar and radio contact near the China border within less than an hour of its take-off.
