Keep special lookout for women in burqas, masks: UP police directives to arrest Dera Chief's daughter Honeypreet Insan

The Uttar Pradesh police has laid a trap along the border leading to Nepal in case Honeypreet Insan, the adopted daughter of Dera Sachcha Sauda Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim tries crossing over.

Acting on an Intelligence Bureau input, the DGP office has directed all police stations in Maharajganj, Gorakhpur and Behraich bordering Nepal to be on high alert as Honeypreet might cross over to Nepal.

The ASP Maharajganj Ashutosh Shukla said that they have circulated photographs of Honeypreet to all bordering police station and posted two women constables in each police stations. Special instructions have been given to women constable to check every women, particularly those wearing burqa or some kind of mask.

“We are not allowing any women or girl to cross over without physical frisking by women constables and document verification by jawans. Night patrolling on open border has been intensified and we are keeping round the clock vigil on those crossing over,” said the ASP.

Situated at a distance of about 90 kms from Gorakhpur, Sonauli is the most infamous town bordering Nepal. It is one of a major transit point of human trafficking and smuggling from both sides of the UP-Nepal border.  

“We are also in touch with bordering Nepal Police check-posts in view of the high alert on Honeypreet,” Shukla added. 

Meanhwile, on the request on the Haryana government, the state Home department has issued instructions to UPP, GRP and CRPF posted at check-points, Bus Stations, Railway Stations and Airports to detain Honeypreet if she is sighted at any of these places.
