When tension seemed to be easing, two more killings have singed the Kashmir valley again.

A 20-year-old ATM guard was killed in a pellet gun fire at Karan Nagar in old Srinagar city. Riyaz Ahmad Shah was on his way home after inspecting the ATM at Habba Kadal late Tuesday night.

Shah's body was found on the road divider while the blood soaked scooter was lying near him. Police have registered a case of murder under section 302 Ranbir Penal Code against the security forces.

Heart-wrenching scenes were witnessed when the body of a poor ATM guard Riyaz Ahmad Shah reached his residence at congested Chattabal area of old Srinagar city on Wednesday.

Cries and shrieks rent the air as the mourners carried the body through the narrow lanes of the locality. Shah was working as salesman on a grocery store during the day and in the night he was working as an ATM guard to feed his family.

"He asked us to keep the dinner ready as he was coming home. But he was shot dead before he could reach home," cried Riyaz's sister.

A specialised team of doctors conducted the autopsy of Riyaz before his body was handed over to family for last rites. Sources said preliminary autopsy report have revealed that hundreds of pallets were found in his body.

In a separate incident, a protestor identified as Farooq Ahmad Kuchay was killed while another received grievous wounds when a personal security officer (PSO) of additional deputy commissioner (ADC) of Ramban opened fire on a mob in South Kashmir's Lethpora village on Srinagar-Jammu national highway late Tuesday night.

"What was the officer, whose jurisdiction is around 100 KM away from Lethpora, doing here in the first place?" tweeted Omar Abdullah, former J&K chief minister.

Sources said dozens of people were injured when security forces intercepted a car and bike rally at Adijan village of Kulgam in south Kashmir on Wednesday.

Main opposition National Conference (NC) said the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti's "shocking insensitivity have emboldened the brutal response" to the current unrest in the Valley.

"Mehbooba has left no stone unturned to vilify and provoke the agitating youth and this has compounded the problem," said Junaid Mattu NC spokesperson.

Terming the killings as naked barbarism, moderate Hurriyat chief Mirwaiz Umar Farooq questioned the silence of UN saying if the world body cannot stop the killing of the oppressed weak by the powerful and influential oppressor it should shut its shop.

"The land of Buddha, Ashoka and Gandhi who propagated Ahinsa and whose people pride themselves of this legacy, is carrying out massacre of innocents so unapologetically", said Mirwaiz.

Latest video of new Hizbul Mujahideen commander emerges in Kashmir

Even as Kashmir continues to witness protests that followed Burhan Wani's killing on July 8, a video recording, showing Hizbul Mujahideen's new commander along with four other militants, has started to do rounds in the Valley. The video comes almost three weeks after Hizbul Mujahideen named its new commander under the nom de guerre~ Mehmood Ghaznavi. Even though some in security establishment believe that Sabzar Ahmed, another Hizb militant, might be Ghaznavi, sources say it is likely Zakir would have been given the responsibility to head Hizbul Mujahideen's southern operations owing to his seniority. Burhan Wani before being killed was heading the southern operations. Both Zakir and Sabzar, figure in the latest video, believed to be recorded in a south Kashmir forest. The video also features three other individuals (excluding the camera-person) who are yet to be identified but are believed to be new recruits to Hizbul Mujahideen. The five militants are dressed in camouflage military attire in the video which is one minute 25-seconds-long.
