To bring back normalcy that the people of Kashmir once enjoyed, the Centre has decided to set up a panel to take stock of cinema halls, temples and educational institutions that were forced to close during the time since militancy erupted in Jammu and Kashmir in the late 1980s and reopen them in a phased manner.

"The ministry of home affairs has constituted a committee that will undertake an extensive survey to reopen schools and educational institutions that have been closed down for many years. Around 50,000 temples were forced to close down over the years, of which some were destroyed, and idols were defaced. We have also ordered a survey of such temples and will re-open them," said Reddy while interacting with the media in a press conference in Bengaluru.

Noting that there stands no cinema hall in the Valley as all were forced to close down 20 years ago due to terror threats, Reddy said the government is also considering opening them in a phased manner to let the Kashmiri people have a normal vibrant life that every Indian enjoys.

Trying to remove the fear from the minds of Kashmiris that the move of abrogating Article 370 will pave the way for settlers to take away their land, Reddy said there is abundant government land available so those who want to invest do not need to purchase land.

"We will give them the government land so that they can open institutions there," he said.

Reddy also said that the government started the initiative to employ 5 people from every village on government posts. Moreover, the Army, the Air Force and the Navy are also planning to hold recruitment drives.

To make the public representatives and government officials accountable, the government has also initiated the action to establish an anti-corruption bureau (ACB) that will soon start an investigation into the unspent money given by the Centre to Jammu and Kashmir.

Reiterating government stand on Pakistan Occupied Kashmir region, Reddy said, "The home minister and defence minister have already cautioned Pakistan and terrorists. The whole nation including POK is on our agenda. As our leaders said I am also saying that we will sacrifice our life if required for POK."

Denouncing the stand taken by Rahul Gandhi and Congress leaders on Jammu and Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370, Reddy said, they are speaking the language of Pakistan but the government has decided to change the scenario and soon people will witness the youth and children of Kashmir having computers and Indian flags in their hands.
