The Centre's political initiative to break the logjam on Kashmir received a setback on Saturday when Kashmir Inc decided to boycott the All Party Delegation (APD) slated to visit Srinagar on Sunday.

The Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir had extended invitation to various groups including Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA) for meeting the APD.

However KCCI and KEA held meeting with their affiliates and decided not to meet the APD and instead advised the APD to meet the separatist leadership for resolving the Kashmir issue for posterity.

"In 2010 we met this delegation but nothing happened since then. Meeting them again is the waste of time. We have told them our story. What will happen by repeating the same story? This is political issue and they should meet Hurriyat leaders to resolve this problem", Mushtaq Ahmad Wani, president KCCI, told dna.

Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA), an umbrella group of trade and business bodies, too, decided to boycott the meeting of the APD.

"It is not a law and order problem. It is a political problem. The government of India knows what people of J&K want. They should meet the concerned leaders of Hurriyat. We are not the stakeholders", Mohammad Yasin Khan, chairman of KEA, told dna.
