Kashmir Girl ends life after a boy posts her morphed conjoined picture on Facebook

Police have registered a case and is yet to arrest the boy who had posted morphed picture of girl along with him and posted on his Facebook page sparking clashes between the two families.

Conservative Kashmir has slipped into a shock after a class XII student committed suicide two days after a boy posted her morphed conjoined picture with him on his Facebook page at remote Palpora-Magam village in Handwara tehsil of the border district of Kupwara.

Police have registered a case and is yet to arrest the boy who had posted morphed picture of girl along with him and posted on his Facebook page sparking clashes between the two families.

Police have filed three separate first information reports (FIRs) after series of incidents rocked Handwara. Five people including father and cousins of the main accused have been arrested by the police.

"It was a picture of the boy and girl superimposed in a heart shape frame and posted on the Facebook. It was not obscene or naked picture. We immediately registered a case. But on the same day the girl's family had altercation and they smashed the head of the boy," Ghulam Jeelani Wani, senior superintendent of police (SSP), Handwara told dna.

Police later registered another case and the injured boy was rushed to Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences Srinagar for treatment. "In the meantime there was another altercation between the two families. The girl later consumed poison and we took her to Srinagar and she succumbed in the hospital on today (Thursday)," said Wani.

Police have registered another case and dispatched a party to Srinagar to nab the boy to prevent his escape from the hospital. "We have dispatched a police party to the hospital to arrest the boy. The boy might have heard about the incident. We are trying to nab him", said the SSP.

Police has put the investigation on the fast track to solve the case.

Meanwhile, Wani said the girl has been buried and there is no law and order problem. "She has been laid to rest. And there is no problem as such," he said.
