DMK president M Karunanidhi has alleged that since the election process began in the state, the Election Commission functioned in a partial manner.

In an interview to The Hindu, Karunanidhi said, "Ever since the election process started, the state witnessed the Election Commission functioning in a partial manner and entering into an alliance with the ruling party."

Questioning if there was any day that passed without news of money distribution (to voters), Karunanidhi said that there were so many complaints against the Ministers. There were reports about Ministers being chased away from entering their constituencies,

The DMK chief also said that the massive money power of the ruling party and the crooked functioning of the EC deprived the DMK of its victory.

"There were many duplicate voters and in his own Thiruvarur constituency and they found over 11,000 duplicate voters," he added.

While the DMK-led alliance together won 98 seats, the Karunanidhi-led party had got 89 seats, followed by eight seats of ally Congress and one IUML.

Few days ago, Karunanidhi also alleged that his party was 'insulted' at the swearing-in ceremony of J Jayalalithaa as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, complaining about the seating arrangement made for his son M K Stalin.
