According to a report published in a leading daily, one of the four Kalyan youths who joined ISIS last May has got in touch with his family and friends back home.

However Fahad Shaikh has steadfastly refused to come back to India claiming he is happy with his jihadi activity in Syria.

Shaikh has confirmed that Saheem Tanki, one of his fellow mates is dead. Shaikh is in regular touch with family via Skype and phone. Reportedly NIA managed to establish contacts with him. But Shaikh has refused to come back home claiming mistreatment of his community in India. Shaikh is currently in Raqqa, Syria. So far he has refused to divulge the nature of 'jehadi activity' he is doing in the IS dominated city.

Fahad Shaikh belongs to a well to do family in Thane. His father is a doctor and he has an engineering degree. Infact Shaikh along with Areeb Majid and Aman Tandel studied in the same engineering college. Areeb Majid was brought back to India last November by NIA. He is currently in police custody. The four left India for Iraq way back in last May. Soon it was revealed that they have joined the most notorious terrorist organisation in the world, ISIS.

Cases like that of Fahad Shaikh though continue to be extremely rare. Home Minister Rajnath Singh reiterated last week that very few muslims have joined ISIS from India as they are true patriots who are not swayed by extremist propaganda.
