Kafeel Khan's brother discharged from hospital, provided security by police

Kashif Jameel, brother of Dr Kafeel Khan, an accused in children death at BRD Medical College in Gorakhpur last year, was discharged from the King George’s Medical College (KGMC) Lucknow on Tuesday.

Jameel was shot at by two unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants on June 10 near Gorakhnath temple in Gorakhpur. He was operated in a private hospital to remove a bullet stuck in his neck. Jameel was rushed to KGMC Lucknow the next day when his condition deteriorated after he developed serious infections.

“I thank Allah and all my well-wishers that Kashif is discharged from the hospital. He is doing well. Prayers of millions helped this miracle to happen. Thank each one you personally,” said Dr Khan. Talking to DNA, Dr Khan said that his brother has been provided two security personnel by the police. “Since doctors have advised us to be stationed in Lucknow for the dressing of my brother's wounds, we will be staying in Lucknow till doctors allow us to go back home in Gorakhpur,” said Dr Khan.

Two days ago, DR Khan had charged the BJP MP from Baansgaon in Gorakhpur, Kamlesh Paswan was behind the murder attempt on his brother over a property dispute. He had alleged that the BJP MP and the builder had hired shooters to eliminate his brother.

He had also named a builder and two associates of the BJP MP for conspiring to kill his brother. Dr Khan has demanded a CBI probe saying that he has no faith in the Gorakhpur Police. The BJP MP Kamlesh Paswan had,  denied Dr Khan charges as baseless and aimed at tarnishing his image. "I will file a defamation case against Dr Khan if he does not apologise'. he said.
