Justice Katju does it again- 'Gandhi a British agent, emphasised Hindu religious ideas'

Justice Katju has developed a penchant for creating controversies. He has been widely panned for sexist and politically incorrect comments. But he seems nonchalant to all the criticisms. In his latest blogpost, Katju has targeted the 'Father of the Nation', Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. In a post which is likely to generate lot of controversy, Katju alleges Gandhiji to be a British agent. 

Katju lists out three reasons to support his claim. He says that Gandhi during his political activity in India injected religion to public discourse thus furthering British agenda of 'Divide and Rule'. According to Katju in almost every speech or article Gandhiji would emphasise Hindu religious ideas e.g. Ramrajya, Go Raksha (cow protection), brahmacharya (celibacy), varnashram dharma (caste system), etc. katju argues that a spiritual leader preaching such idea is one thing, but a political leader saying it further divided the country. He infers Gandhi's preaching indirectly forced Muslims to join Muslim League.

 Secondly, Kathu argues that Gandhi diverted attention and focus from revolutionary movement started by the likes of Anushilan Samiti to focus on Satyagraha, which he describes as nonsensical. 

Thirdly Katju describes Gandhiji's economic ideas as reactionary and rubbishes it as nonsense. He even attacks Gandhiji's act of trying to douse communal tensions in Noakhali during Partition . Katju mocks Gandhiji's action by saying, "First you set the house on fire, and then you do the drama of trying to douse the flames."
