JNU student alleges gang rape, two Afghan nationals arrested

The victim is in her second year of BA (Hons) and had gone to a pub in Hauz Khas village last week with a friend of hers

 A JNU student, 21, was allegedly gang raped by two persons. The incident allegedly took place in Green Park, a South Delhi area. The perpetrators were allegedly two Afghan nationals, Sulaiman and Twaab.

  The victim is in her second year of BA (Hons) at JNU and had gone to a pub in Hauz Khas village last week with a friend of hers. There she met Twaab. He invited both of them to his friend's house in Green Park for a party. According to the police, Twaab's friend Sulaiman, Siddhant and Pratyusha were present at the house as well. Later in the night, her friend was dropped off at JNU and the girl came back to Twaab's house. 

"A case was registered in this regard on January 12, under section 376/34. The two accused persons namely Twaab Ahmed, 27 and Sulaiman Ahmadi, 31 were arrested on the same day. Both are from Afghanistan and were living in Delhi on UNHCR card. The two were sent to judicial custody" said a senior police officer. He further added Twaab was residing in the country for the last 10 years and Sulaiman was for the last 2 years.

In her complaint, the victim alleged that Sulaiman was forcing himself on her in the morning. She was later told that while she was not in her senses, she was sexually assaulted by the duo. Once she reached her hostel she narrated her ordeal to her friends and informed the police.
