This is the second incident in which a teenager has been killed by the terrorists in the last 36 hours in South Kashmir.
Huzaif Ashraf of Manzgam Kulgam was among the three youth abducted by the militants on Saturday from Shopian district. Later Huzaif was taken to Hermain village where his throat was slit in a brutal manner.
Police said terrorists killed a civilian in a brutal act of terror after he was kidnapped earlier in the day from Saidpora area of Shopian.
“Police retrieved the body of civilian from Hermain village in Shopian. He has been identified as Huzaif Ashraf. Body of Huzaif was handed over to his family after completion of the medico-legal formalities”, said a police spokesman.
Police said a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in the concerned Police Station and investigation has been initiated in the matter``
Huzaif is the second teenager to have been killed in last 36 hours. Terror plagued Kashmir had slipped into a shock on Friday when dreaded Hizbul Mujhadeen released a bone-chilling video of shooting an abducted teenager Nadeem Manzoor in cold blood in the Pulwama district of south Kashmir.
The killings have evoked sharp reaction from the mainstream parties while as separatist groups have withdrawn into a shell.
“Another dastardly killing of a young man, this time the terrorists slit his throat. This barbarism has no place in our society and no struggle, no matter how lofty the claims to justify it, can condone this inhuman behavior”, tweeted Omar Abdullah, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister.
Expressing deep concern over the killing of two youth, Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) state spokesman Altaf Thakur strongly condemned the killings and abductions terming them as totally senseless and utter frustration.
"Yesterday a young boy was killed and today throat slit body of another youth has been found in Shopian. Police to catch those behind these barbaric killings”, he said.
