J&K: Stones pelted at security forces involved in anti-militancy operation

Security forces used tear smoke shells and pellets to disperse the stone- pelting protestors.

 At least two persons were injured on Tuesday in clashes between violent protestors and security forces near the encounter site in Pulwama district of Kashmir where a group of militants are holed up.

Over 100 "miscreants" started pelting stones at security forces involved in the anti-militancy operation in Hakripora area of Pulwama, a police official said.

 

He said the security forces used tear smoke shells, pellets and fired few live rounds to disperse the stone- pelting protestors.

Two persons were injured in the security forces action even as the clashes were going on till last reports came in, he said.

Jehangir Ahmad Dar was hit by a bullet in the back while Mudasir Ahmad was hit by pellets in the chest, the official said adding both have been admitted to different hospitals.
