Ceasefire violations by Pak in Rajouri, Ramgarh, Arnia; 19-year-old killed in Ramgarh

Pakistan violated ceasefire in Nowshera sector in Rajouri sector of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday morning and has been firing on since 5 AM, reported ANI. Three civilians were also injured in the firing .

​Ceasefire was also violated in Ramgarh sector of Samba in Jammu and Kashmir since 6:30 AM with strong retaliation by the Border Security Force (BSF). A 19-year old girl was killed in the firing.

In the ceasefire violation by Pakistan used small arms, automatics and 82 mm mortars. Three civilians have been injured the ceasefire violation in Arnia sector of RS Pura district. The injured were taken to the hospital where Doctor Naseeb Chand Dhingra said, "They have sustained sprinter injuries. Treatment going on."

Defence PRO Manish Mehta told ANI that India was retaliating hard. "Intermittently fire is going on in Nowshera sector. Forward areas are being targeted using heavy mortars. We retaliated in equal measure."

Mehta also added, "We don’t have any casualties and are giving them hard-hitting reply."

Meanwhile, an encounter between security forces and terrorists is underway in Ajar village in Bandipora (Jammu and Kashmir). More details are awaited.

On Monday, an elderly woman and a soldier were killed and a girl and two armymen were injured in cross-LoC shelling and firing by Pakistani troops in Poonch and Rajouri districts of Jammu and Kashmir. On Monday morning, Pakistani troops resorted to firing and shelling on the Indian positions and the civilian villages in the Balakote, Mankote belts of Mendhar tehsil in Poonch district, an army officer said. Pakistani troops also violated ceasefire in several areas of Rajouri district this afternoon, the officer said.

There was a lull along the International Border (IB) since 9 AM on Monday after ceasefire violations by Pakistani Rangers on Sunday. There have been more that 60 ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops along the LoC and IB in the state since surgical strikes against terror launch pads by the Indian Army in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on September 29. 13 people, including three civilians, and eight security personnel were killed and over 40 people, mostly civilians were injured in the incidents.
