J&K: Grenade attack on police post in Anantnag; one civilian killed, 14 injured

Suspected militants attacked a police post at Sher Bagh in Anantnag killing a civilian and injuring 14 others, including four cops.

The incident occurred Monday evening when ultras lobbed a grenade on the police post. 15 persons including four police men were injured, one of the civilian later succumbed to injuries in the hospital.

The incident took place as authorities are gearing for Eid on Tuesday in the valley that has been facing unrest for more than two months. Curfew like situation prevails to maintain law and order in the valley.

According to sources, the a big congregation for Eid Namaz will not be allowed, and would be read out in local mohalla mosques only.
