J&K braid chopping incident: 4 protestors injured as security forces fire on violent mob in Pahalgam

At least four persons were injured during a protest over an alleged braid chopping incident in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.

Residents of a village in Pahalgam area of Anantnag district staged a protest after they caught an alleged braid chopper.

The security forces personnel opened fire at protestors after they tried to deflate tyres of a vehicle passing through the area and got violent.

He said further details of the incident were awaited.

On Tuesday, an Army jawan was beaten up by a mob in Kupwara town on suspicion of being a braid chopper.

The injured jawan was rescued by Army personnel and policemen.

At least half a dozen of alleged braid chopping incidents have been reported in the past two days.
