JEE (Advanced) Results 2018 girls topper Minal Parekh surprised by her rank

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) announced results for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced on Sunday, with Panchkula boy Pranav Goyal bagging the first rank scoring 337 marks out of 360. The second position has been secured by Kota's Sahil Jain while Delhi's Kailash Gupta got the third spot. Kota's Meenal Parekh has emerged as topper among girls with 318 marks.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) announced results for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced on Sunday, with Panchkula boy Pranav Goyal bagging the first rank scoring 337 marks out of 360. The second position has been secured by Kota's Sahil Jain while Delhi's Kailash Gupta got the third spot. Kota's Meenal Parekh has emerged as topper among girls with 318 marks.

 As expected the students from Rajasthan's Education hub Kota made it to the top 20 ranks. 

Minal Parekh, AIR 6, is a  student of Vibrant coaching institute while Sahil Jain of the same institute has secured AIR -2. 

"The result is unexpected for me," Minal commented while speaking to media persons in Kota.

AIR - 2 position holder Sahil said, "It was normal for me as I was expect ing a position in top ten after the paper but the second position is something exciting." 

Jaipur based Pawan Goyal who studied in Resonance coaching institute in Kota obtained AIR -4 while Lay Jain from Kota and Neel Aryan Gupta of Chandigarh, both students of Allen Career Institute in Kota, secured  9th and 10th positions respectively in JEE advanced results. 

Around, 1.55 lakh students appeared for the JEE Advanced examination this year that was conducted on May 20 out of which 18,138 have qualified.

With results out now, seat allocation will commence from June 15. For the first time, JEE Advanced was held completely in the online mode.
Selected ones will obtain admission into undergraduate courses, which will help in obtaining a bachelor's, integrated masters or bachelor-master dual degree in engineering, sciences or architecture.

Aspirants can attempt JEE (Advanced) a maximum of two times in two consecutive years
