The Delhi High Court today extended till November 21 the interim bail of Ajay Chautala who along with former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala has been sentenced to 10 years in prison in teachers recruitment scam case.

A special bench of Justice Siddharth Mridul extended Ajay Chautala's bail till November 21 on medical grounds.

The court also directed CBI counsel to file a comprehensive status report on Ajay Chautala's health condition after it refused to accept the report filed by the agency.

"File a comprehensive status report. Interim order to continue till November 21," the bench said.

INLD chief O P Chautala had surrendered at Tihar jail on October 11 after the high court cancelled his interim bail on October 10 for flouting bail conditions by campaigning for his party.

On January 22, 2013, a special CBI court had convicted and sentenced the Chautalas and eight others to a 10-year jail term each for illegally recruiting 3,206 junior teachers in 2000.
Among other convicts, 44 were sentenced to four years in jail and one to five-year jail term.

All of them were held guilty of cheating, forgery, using fake documents as genuine, conspiracy under IPC and of abusing their official position under Prevention of Corruption Act.
