Amid uncertainty over All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) general secretary Sasikala Natarajan's swearing in as Tamil Nadu (TN) Chief Minister, former TN Speaker PH Pandian on Tuesday alleged that someone had pushed late TN Chief Minister Jayalalithaa at Poes Garden and she had collapsed.

"I was silent since September 22 and whatever has happened in the last 2 days, I want to break my silence. I came to know that Jayalalithaa was depressed and she had an argument with someone at Poes Garden and she collapsed after someone pushed her," News18.com reported, quoting Pandian.

He also alleged that she was taken to the hospital to avoid suspicion. "No one informed us about the treatment given to her."

Stating that he was strongly opposed to Sasikala's elevation, he said, "She doesn't have (the) quality to be AIADMK General Secretary and TN CM. I haven't come out of sadness after Jayalalithaa's demise."

Pandian also demanded a probe against all those present on the night of September 22 at Poes Garden.

A London-based specialist Richard Beale, Apollo Hospital and government doctors on Monday ruled out poisoning as the cause of Amma's death and asserted that there was 'no conspiracy' or mystery in either the treatment or what led to her death. "She succumbed to serious infection which led to organ failure," Beale told the media.

"She had septicemia with uncontrolled diabetes as she had blood pressure and sugar, this disease spread rapidly in her body. The best of treatment was given to her in ICU with critical care. In medical science, whatever we could have done we did,," said one of the doctors in a press conference arranged by the Tamil Nadu government.

Jayalalithaa passed away on the night of December 5th, a day after suffering cardiac arrest.

The 68-year-old politician who was under the watch of experts, including cardiologists, breathed her last at Apollo Hospital in Chennai.

Jayalalithaa, who had scored a historic win in the assembly elections in the state little over six months ago, was admitted to Apollo Hospital on September 22 with fever and dehydration.
