Terming the alleged gang-rape of a 21-year-old Japanese tourist in Bihar as 'extremely shameful', the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) on Saturday called for strict action against the perpetrators.

"This incident is very shameful. It sends a wrong message across the world about our nation. Our political system must take very strict action," DCW chairperson Barkha Shukla told ANI here.

Five people have been arrested by the police for allegedly gang-raping a Japanese tourist in November last year.

Two tourist guides reportedly lured a Japanese tourist and gang-raped her in Digha. They then took her to Gaya, where three more men joined them and again gang-raped the Japanese tourist.
