One woman lost her life and three others got injured in the latest ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops on several BSF posts along the India-Pakistan border in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba and Kathua districts.

"There is incessant firing across the border since yesterday. There is one casualty (woman) in Manguchack and her child suffered a splinter injury. Two others are injured," said Samba Deputy Commissioner of Police Mubarak Singh.

"Arrangements have been made to move people to safer locations," he added.

Samba Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) VP Singh said the people have started migrating to other areas after the incident.

"For safe migration, we have provided police vehicles," he added.

Meanwhile, a villager residing in Samba Sector said that firing took place the entire night resulting in serious damage.

"Some people have been injured and are admitted to the hospital," he added. India strongly retaliated to the ceasefire violation from the other side of the border.
