Jammu & Kashmir: Female mountaineer forced to ask donation to fulfil her Mt. Everest dream

Kashmir's daughter Nahida Manzoor's only desire is to climb world's highest mountain, Mount Everest and to fulfill her passion, she has started a online crowd funding campaign to achieve her dream.

Kashmir's daughter Nahida Manzoor's only desire is to climb world's highest mountain, Mount Everest and to fulfill her passion, she has started a online crowd funding campaign to achieve her dream.

She is doing it through the website www.ketto.org. She looks forward to scaling Everest during 2019 season and April 15 is her deadline to generate around Rs 30 lakh needed for the summit. Nahida is in touch with Transit Adventurers for undertaking the expedition.

Nahida Manzoor (23) belongs to a middle class family of Srinagar's outer area and her father is waiting for the moment when his daughter will put the national flag on Mount Everest. 

Nahid was inclined towards trekking from childhood. Naheeda said, "I have been trekking since the age of 10 but in 2017 I started it professionally. Due to being Kashmir's first female mountaineer, many people are helping me to fulfill my dream".

According to Nahida, she has got no assurance from the government and so, she has started a funding campaign on www.ketto.org to make her dream come true. 

"I am determined to raise money from www.ketto.org. I am working on my physical health and preparing hard to climb Mt. Everest". 

Twenty three year old Nahida Manzoor is a trained mountaineer having completed all mountaineering courses. She had completed her Basic Mountaineering Course and Advance Mountaineering Course (ABVIMAS) from Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM). She has also done Special Mountaineering Course and Method of Instructions both from NIM. She has so far scaled Mount Deo Tibba-Manali with a height of 6001 meters and also Friendship Peak of Himachal Pradesh with a height of 5289 meters. In Kashmir she has scaled Mount Mahadev and Mount Tatakooti. 

As per Nahida, a company named TCI has assured her to give sponsorship of 7.5 lacs but she needs atleast 30 lacs for her traning process. 

Nahida says that when she was a 10-year old she had set her sights on the Mount Everest and one day she will achieve her dream.
