Jammu and Kashmir polls: Ramban gets 327 EVMs for 219 polling stations

Election Authorities have sent 327 Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) to Ramban district in Jammu and Kashmir, which goes to polls along 6 other districts in first phase of polls on November 25.

District Election Officer (DEO), Ramban, Farooq Shah Bukhari said that as many as 327 EVMs have arrived and representatives from all political parties actively took part at a mock poll to check for any flaws in the machines.

The First Level Checking (FLC) is a process in which all EVMs are thoroughly checked and the whole work is carried out under video surveillance, he said. The FLC of the EVMs was carried out today in Ramban where representatives of various political parties were present, he said.

Ramban has sought around 327 EVMs for the polling in more than 218 polling stations of Ramban and Banihal Constituencies, the DEO said.\
