Security forced on Monday busted a militant hideout in a forest area of Ramban district and claimed to have recovered a large quantity of arms and ammunition. "The troops of Rashtriya Rifles battalion based at Nachlana under Delta Force along with Police, busted a militant hideout in the dense forest of Dachan area of Ramban district and recovered large quantity of arms, ammunition and war like stores," a defence spokesman said. He said the hideout was tracked on the basis of a specific information from a reliable source.

"Following the information, a massive search and combing operation was launched in the area spanning over two days under extreme inclement weather conditions," he said.

The arms and ammunition recovered from the hideout include one AK 47 rifle with four magazines, two pistols, 250 rounds of AK 47, 30 rounds of PIKA, 10 hand grenades, 10 Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL) grenades, two radio sets, two binoculars and two wire fuses. "The hideout is believed to be of militants who have been killed in the past by security forces. Such huge recovery of arms and ammunition will definitely act as big blow to nefarious designs of terrorists," he said.
