Jammu and Kashmir: Police put on high alert after heavy rainfall forecast

The Director General of Police asked all the officers to be vigilant in case of any evetuality.

Jammu and Kashmir police has been put on high alert in view of heavy rains and snowfall forecast across the state.

Director General of Police (DGP), K Rajendra Kumar on Friday ordered the police to remain on alert and mobilise men and machinery to assist civil administration in case of any exigency, an official spokesperson said.

He directed all police formations including SDRF, Executive and Armed Police to be vigilant and act quickly in case of any eventuality. Officers have been directed to ensure road connectivity in remote areas, the spokesman said. "Communication network shall also be geared up to ensure coordination among different formation for which Police Control Rooms shall function round the clock," he said.
