Jammu and Kashmir encounter: Army jawan, policeman killed in Pulwama; one terrorist gunned down

One Army jawan and a policeman have lost their lives in an ongoing encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. The encounter is still on in Lam village in Pulwama district. One terrorist has been gunned down by the security forces. 

Security forces launched an anti-militancy operation in Laam forest of Tral area in Pulwama district following information about the presence of militants there, a police official said.

He said a gun battle broke out between militants and the security forces when the ultras opened fire. A security force personnel has been injured while the operation is still in progress, the official said.

This encounter comes a day after Pakistan Army violated ceasefire along the Line of Control at Krishna Ghati sector of Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district.
