Three terrorists were gunned down in a joint operation by the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Handwara on Monday.
Giving out the details of the encounter, Jammu and Kashmir' Director General of Police, SP Vaid tweeted that, “In Unisoo, Handwara all the three terrorists apparently Pakistanis have been neutralised.”
He also said that the anti-terror operation was carried out by the joint team of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the Rashtriya Rifles and the CRPF.

Lauding the valour of the men involved in the encounter, Vaid also said that 'It has been raining whole night & boys were out there in the cold (sic).'
Apart from the three terrorists, a civilian woman has also been killed in the encounter. " Bodies of three terrorists killed in the operation and three weapons recovered. No other operations in the area", th army spokesman said clarified.
The clarification came in the wake of the update tweeted by news agency ANI that in a separate operation, two terrorists were killed and one captured alive in Baramulla's Bomai area.

However, the army has clarified that there was just one operation in Handwara and three terrorists have been killed in the encounter. This year, the security forces have killed more than 200 terrorists in various operations in Jammu and Kashmir.
