Two army personnel who allegedly belong to a four-member gang of extortionists were arrested by the police in south Kashmir  after they took Rs 32,000 from a doctor's home posing as Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists, reports The Sunday Express.

The two armymen forced themselves into Bilal Ahmad's house in Qazigund posing as Hizbul militants and took Rs 32,000 from the family. Bilal was not present at his home at the time.

A day later, Bilal's sister, also a doctor, identified one of the patients in the hospital she worked for as one the extortionist. The family lodged a complaint with the police leading to the arrest of the man. The armyman later on revealed that there were four of them working as an extortionist group. The two others were posted with Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry and the Rashtriya Rifles.

The culprits have been identified as Muzaffar Ahmad, Nissar Ahmad and Armymen Mohammad Yousuf and Mohammad Rafiq and are from Qazigunj. "We have arrested four persons, including the two Armymen. We have recovered a toy gun, a van and Rs 23,000 from their possession,” said Station House Officer (SHO) Qazigund Parvez Ahmad. “An investigation has been launched and we are trying to figure out if only four persons were involved,” Ahmad said to the daily.
