Jammu Airport sets an example in passenger friendly services

Police said almost every day few items are recovered by Anti-hijacking staff at Airport Jammu and are handed over to original owners.

Jammu Airport has launched a special awareness campaign to remind passengers about their luggage and valuables before leaving the airport premises to ensure safe and comfortable journey. 

"Considering the numerous number of cases where passengers forget their valuables at Airport and since it has become a daily affair, an awareness campaign was launched at  airport Jammu wherein passengers are being reminded to take care of their valuables and not to leave them either in the aircraft, check-in-counters or X-ray points",  said a spokesman of Jammu and Kashmir police,  Anti-hijacking wing, at Jammu Airport.

Police said almost every day few items are recovered by Anti-hijacking staff at Airport Jammu and are handed over to original owners.

On Tuesday  J&K Police at Airport Jammu handed over a purse containing Rs. 1,22,960 and other valuable items to a passenger Rekha Gupta of Jammu. 

"Passenger was traced after hectic efforts by Anti-hijacking Police as she had no idea whether she has lost the purse at Airport or elsewhere",  said the spokesman. 

Senior Superintendent of Police,  anti-hijacking,  at Jammu Airport,  Rajinder Gupta appreciated the security staff for tracing the purse. 

Police said the passenger told them she was in distress when she forgot the purse.  "She praised the Police Department for this act of honesty", the spokesman said.
