China has managed to block efforts to impose an international ban on  Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) chief Masood Azhar. But an audio tape has revealed that JeM had been involved in a terror attack on BSF Camp in Srinagar on October 3, claims Zee News in an exclusive report. China's claim of no evidence against Masood Azhar has fallen flat on its face, says the report. In the tapes, Masood Azhar is heard saying that some leaders in the international community offer aid in order to eliminate us. He even takes a swipe at Pervez Musharraf and claims that his efforts to eliminate JeM failed completely.

An audio clip accessed by 'Zee Media' exposes the JeM chief, in which he is heard admitting to JeM terrorists attacking BSF camp in Srinagar on October 3.

In the one-hour-45-minute long audio, Masood Azhar can be heard saying, “When the world says we will end this jihad, our men attack BSF camp in Srinagar.”

Azhar accepts giving hate speeches and training terrorists in Pakistan for suicide (fidayeen) missions with emotional blackmail in the name of religion for the last 17 years.

While hitting out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump, the Pathankot terror attack mastermind says both the leaders hate Islamist terrorists and want to kill us.

“When our ministers in the government (Pakistan) go abroad, some leaders across in international community ask them to kill us, in lieu of aid. But by the grace of 'Allah' we are alive,” Azhar said.

Masood Azhar’s recent speech was reportedly inside a mosque in Pakistan. In an apparent reference to India, Azhar is heard saying that enemy country is frustrated.

He further took a dig at former Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf, who had once vowed to eradicate Jaish from the country.“Today Musharraf is nowhere in Pakistan, but JeM continues to exist. 'Allah' has saved us all,” Masood Azhar said.

Last week on Thursday, China blocked a bid at the United Nations by the US, France and Britain to list Maulana Masood Azhar as a global terrorist, citing a lack of consensus among the members of the UN Security Council.

A veto-wielding permanent member of the UN Security Council, China has repeatedly blocked India’s move to designate Azhar a terrorist under the Al-Qaeda Sanctions Committee of the UN Security Council.

The block comes as Chinese President Xi Jinping is beginning his second five-year term after the 19th Chinese Communist Party Congress last month. The Chinese block is seen as one of the irritants in the India-China bilateral relationship.

The JeM, founded by Azhar, has already been in the UN’s list of banned terror outfits. “China has rejected the move as there is no consensus,” people aware of the matter in the Chinese foreign ministry told PTI in Beijing.

Indian foreign ministry spokesman Raveesh Kumar expressed deep disappointment at the Chinese move.

“We are deeply disappointed that once again, a single country has blocked international consensus on the designation of an acknowledged terrorist and leader of UN-designated terrorist organization, Masood Azhar,” Kumar said. “India strongly believes that double standards and selective approaches will only undermine the international community’s resolve to combat terrorist. We can only hope that there will be a realization that accommodating with terrorism for narrow objectives is both short sighted and counter productive,” Kumar said.

In August, China extended by three months its technical hold on the proposal backed by US, France and Britain to name Azhar a global terrorist after blocking the move in February.

Thursday’s move indicates China aims to ensure that the application to name Azhar a terrorist lapses—making it the second year in a row that China has blocked the resolution.

Last year, China had stalled an India-sponsored attempt to get Azhar listed as a terrorist.
