Jaipur: Son of grade-four employee of Public Health Department tops CA exams

Vinod Tilwani's father works as a fourth-grade employee with the Rajasthan Public Health Department and owns a gas burner shop.

The results of Chartered Accountants (CA) final exam and Common Proficiency Test (CPT) exam which were announced on Monday were a reason for joy in many households, but Talwani family from Jaipur was overjoyed when Vinod Tilwani not only ranked 22 all across India in CA Top-50, but also topped Institute of Chartered Accounts of India (ICAI) - Jaipur.

According to a Hindustan Times report, Tilwani is a son of grade-four employee with the Rajasthan Public Health Department, who also owns a small shop where he sells and repairs gas burners. His father, Mahesh Tilwani, proudly spoke about his son's schedule before the exams. “He used to go out with friends, help me at the shop, attend coaching classes, but never failed to devote 4-5 hours to self-study every day. In the last few months before the exams, he used to study over 16 hours a day,” he said. 

9, 717 students appeared for CA final exams in May from Jaipur branch, one of the seven largest of Central India Regional Council of ICAI. Out of which, 1,960 cleared the examination and six made it to the CA Top-50 list. 

Out of 1963 students who appeared for CPT from Jaipur branch, 952 emerged successful.
