Jaipur: Health minister inspects hospital, dispensary

Rajendra Rathore gave 10-day time to the officials of Jaipuria Hospital to re-start the defunct ICU unit.

Soon after kicking off the polio vaccination campaign at the Mahatma Gandhi dispensary in Gandhi Nagar area, medical and health minister Rajendra Rathore, on Sunday morning, paid yet another surprise visit to a dispensary and the Jaipuria Hospital.

During his visit, he visited multiple areas of both the hospitals taking cue of the sanitation and basic amenities being provided to the patients. Rathore first reached free medicine distribution centres. He communicated with the on-duty officials and asked them to better the situation for the ease of common people.

He ordered the officials to remain in proper uniform with their nameplates on. Rathore, who didn’t seem happy with the sanitary conditions in the wards and in the washrooms visited the Emergency and directed the officials for the special attention on cleanliness and sanitation inside the hospital.

Post his visit, Rathore took a long meeting with the officials at the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) room where he said, “In order to ease the ever increasing pressure from the SMS Hospital, Jaipuria Hospital needs to be well equipped. The tube lights and fans need to be cleaned on priority basis along with the wards.”

He also gave 10-days time to the officials to re-start the defunct ICU unit at the hospital. He added that the process of increasing number of beds in the ward from 100 to 150 should soon be completed.

“There would be no lack of resources for people’s benefit,” Rathore added.
