The Pink City seems to have turned saffron ahead of oath-taking ceremony of Vasundhara Raje.

All roads lead to state Assembly to welcome Raje as the new chief minister of state. In the process, all major streets and roads have turned smooth suddenly. Civic agencies on Thursday pressed in extra workforce to bury potholes on roads and straighten the tilted poles in streets.

The authorities planted chrysanthemum saplings at several crossings and trisections on JLN Marg. Besides, the footpaths were also repainted and the whole road was cleaned. The BJP workers fixed party flags on all streetlight poles on JLN Marg on Thursday.

The bus stops which were defaced by posters during student union elections were also given a new life. The saplings planted on the dividers are now being watered on a daily basis. The potholes on all roads have vanished suddenly. The zebra crossings which had become almost invisible at several crossings were also painted afresh on Thursday.  The functioning of traffic lights was also thoroughly checked.

A labourer, Sunil, said they were given special instructions by their contractor that no poster or mark should be visible on any of the boards on JLN Marg. “We have been instructed to remove all stains and posters from the road. We are putting in a lot of effort to beatify the JLN Marg. We have fixed around a thousand flags of Bharatiya Janata Party,” Sunil added.

The Janpath and connecting roads were also given a facelift on Thursday to welcome Vasundhara Raje who will be taking the oath as chief minister.
