J Jayalalithaa presents Rs 5 lakh solatium to widow

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on Thursday handed over a solatium of Rs 5 lakh to the wife of a police sub-inspector who lost his life while on duty.

Jayalalithaa handed over a cheque for the amount from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund to Jeeva, wife of Tiruverkadu Police Station Sub-inspector V Ravichandran, who died after being run over by a container lorry in the city recently, an official release said.

The cheque was handed over to her at the Secretariat.
