It can't get uglier than this on the cyberspace. A full blown twitter war has broken out between former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah and singer Adnan Sami over the Rhythm in Paradise Concert held in the lawns of Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) on the banks of Dal Lake on Saturday.

Seemingly angry by the tweet of Omar about the empty chairs in the concert, Sami hit back with equal ferocity using words like "sadistic sore loser" while referring to former chief minister.

It started with Omar's tweet on Saturday evening: "The empty seats and delayed start are showing Kashmir for what it is-empty hotels, poor governance and general public despondency".

Sami did not take it lying down and asked Omar to check his sources. "Bro you are a former CM..You shouldn't be so unnerved by a music concert. You obviously have bad sources who lie to you. Here are the photos," he tweeted.

However Omar responded again by tweeting: "How does hoping you have a houseful suggest I'm unnerved? I'm glad people got to enjoy an evening of music. I used to like yours at one time".

Minutes later it was a full blown war on twitter with Sami unleashing barrage of tweets. "Oh please Omar! You retweeting people photos like a sadistic sore loser speaks volumes of your lack of stature and pettiness. Up your game- Its music!" Sami tweeted.

Omar however did not take it easy and hit back at Sami. "Aren't you a big enough star? Do you really need the column inches in a gossip piece Omar-Adnan spar? I don't. Enjoy Srinagar. Good night," he tweeted.

Seemingly angry Sami gave it back to Omar. "Your fickle mind should know that its not about being a Star. It's about coming together for the purpose of promoting peace, love & harmony. GN," he said

Omar then tried to end the spat in his own style. "Like you said right in the beginning - I am a former CM & so I'll ignore yr 7-8 insults in three tweets. Thanks for coming to Srinagar. Stay safe," he said

Sami later lampooned Omar for realising the fact. "So you finally realized huh! Der aye durust aye (better late than never)," he tweeted.

Later taking to DNA Omar said Sami was the guest and he did not want to respond "to his insults" in kind. "He is our guest. It would have been wrong on my part to responded in kind. If he thinks it is good let it be. It reflects on him. I honestly am out of sight and out of mind. It is yesterday story I am not really bothered," he said.

Omar hoped that Sami will come back one day and hold an open concert so that people can enjoy his music. "I hope he can come back one day and have a successful event. May be the event that is not politicized by the government. Have an open concert so that people can come freely and Kashmir can enjoy his music," he said.
