The National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out raids at 17 locations across Delhi and Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday to nab members of a new Islamic State-inspired module -- 'Harkat ul Harb e Islam' (War for the cause of Islam) -- and arrested 10 accused. "After through interrogations, we have arrested 10 accused; five each from Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. Our raids and interrogations are still on; more arrests will take place," NIA spokesperson Alok Mittal said.
He said that mastermind of the module, Mufti Suhail, is a native of Amroha in UP. The agency also released a video wherein Suhail is teaching other members of the group how to make a bomb. "He has been explaining and teaching the other accused about bomb-making," Mittal said.
Further, there are two sets of brothers in the group. One set is welders into making of arms and another set involved in stealing jewellery from their houses to fund the act.
Five were arrested from the western Uttar Pradesh district of Amroha following a joint operation with the UP Anti-Terrorist Squad and another five were arrested from north-east Delhi with the help of Delhi Police's Special Cell led by Deputy Commissioner of Police PS Kushwaha.

Another main accused Anas Yunus is 24 years old and is from Jafrabad in Delhi. He is pursuing Civil Engineering at Amity University in Noida. He was instrumental in procuring electrical items, alarm clocks and batteries in furtherance of their terror conspiracy. Another accused is Rashid Zafar is just 23 years and he is also from Jafrabad in Delhi. He is into garments business.
The two brothers -- Saeed Ahmad and Raees Ahmad -- are from Amroha in UP and has a Karkhana (welding shop) at Islam Nagar, Near Idgah, in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh. The two brothers Saeed and Raees had procured a huge quantity of explosive material and gunpowder (approx.25 kg) for preparing IEDs and pipe bombs and were instrumental in fabricating a rocket launcher to carry out terrorist attacks.
Similarly two brothers -- Zubair Malik (22) and Zaid Malik (20) – are from Jafrabad. Zubair is a third-year graduate student at Bhim Rao Ambedkar College of University in Delhi. Both the brothers -- Zaid and Zubair -- were part of the terror conspiracy and were instrumental in procuring batteries, connectors, SIM cards on fake documents and mobilising funds for buying bomb-making material.
Saqib Iftekar is 26 years old and is from Simbhaoli at Hapur in Uttar Pradesh and working as Imam in Jama Masjid at Baksar in Uttar Pradesh. He helped the master-mind Mufti Suhail in procuring weapons.
Further, another accused Mohd Irshad from Amroha in Uttar Pradesh is an auto-rickshaw driver and was helping Suhail in arranging a hide-out for keeping the material for making IED's and bombs. Also, Mohd Azam, 35, a resident of Gashi Mendu in Delhi, runs a medical shop in Seelampur in Shahdara, Delhi and helped the Suhail in arranging weapons.
"Apart from these accused, some other suspects are being examined," said Mittal adding the arrested accused would be produced before the NIA Special Court in Patiala Court House on Thursday.
