First Secretary of Indian High Commission Piyush Singh had gone to Islamabad High court in context of Indian national Uzma's writ petition.
Islamabad High Court's staff on Friday seized the mobile phone of First Secretary of Indian High Commission Piyush Singh, reports local media.
Singh had gone to Islamabad High court in context of Uzma's writ petition, during which his phone was seized.
Uzma, an Indian national, who has accused her Pakistani husband of marrying her at gunpoint, petitioned the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday for duplicate travel documents and provision of security for her journey back to India.
Uzma's lawyer, Barrister Malik Shah Nawaz Noon along with Singh filed the petition on her behalf in the IHC stating that her husband Tahir Ali had deceived her as he was already married, and that he stole her passport and other travel documents, reports the Dawn.
"My five-year-old daughter Falak is ill, and I have to meet her. Tahir deceived me and forced me to marry him at gunpoint. He even stole my passport and travelling documents." Dawn quoted Uzma as saying in her petition.
"I urge the court to ask the Foreign Office to issue duplicate travel documents so that I may travel back to India," she added.
The Pakistan Foreign Office (FO) had earlier said that Uzma, will be repatriated only after all legal requirements are completed.
FO spokesperson Nafees Zakaria had said that Uzma's case is currently being heard in court and she will only be able to return once all legal requirements are complete.
He added that the Indian Ministry of External Affairs had also requested the FO for details pertaining to her marriage to Ali, a Pakistani national.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Wednesday assured that India is coordinating with the Pakistan Foreign Office for the safe return of an Indian woman Uzama, who alleged that she was sedated, tortured and forced to sign a nikah nama at gunpoint in Pakistan.
