The concept of the 'Love Mumbai' installation which has been set up at the Promenade at Bandra Reclamation, seems like it has taken hints from the 'Iamsterdam' sign in Netherlands.

Aditya Thackeray, head of Shiv Sena's youth wing announced on Monday that the typography installation that was first showcased at the city's Kala Ghoda festival will find its permanent home at the Bandra Reclamation Promenade.

Popular Facebook page 'Humans of Bombay' had started an online petition to make the installation a part of the Mumbai landscape, St+art India, a Mumbai-based non-profit organisation (NGO) put in a request to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to give it a permanent place in the city.

The installation has been designed by Hitesh Malaviya and Hanif Kureshi.

The installation is quite similar to the one placed at several places in Amsterdam as a promotional tool for tourism.

One such installation is located in front of the Rijksmuseum (Dutch national museum of arts and history) in Amsterdam. The Rijksmuseum is the most-visited museum in the Netherlands; it had attracted 2.4 million visitors in 2014.
