A day after joining BJP, former cop Kiran Bedi on Friday made it crystal clear that she is the BJP candidate for the chief minister's chair in Delhi.

Giving a broader outline of how the chief minister secretariat will work, Bedi said, "Our secretariat will work on the principles of 5 Ps. Five Ps, Preacher, Politician, Police, Prosecution and Press can make the system work and the city safe." Bedi was speaking at the felicitation ceremony organised by Delhi state unit.

Promising to work on the Gujarat model, she said, "In Gujarat, the state secretariat will be open to the MLAs and other public representatives on a routine bases. We will introduce a similar practice in Delhi. It will be ensured that the bureaucrats deliver to the expectation of the public representative."

BJP office at Pandit Pant Marg was buzzing with activities waiting for their next chief minister. Bedi's cut outs and posters were seen all over the place. She was welcomed to the party office amidst beating drums and fireworks. More than 500 partymen including three Mps attended the ceremony. "I don't have the stamina and energy like Modi, but I share his vision," she said, hinting on the larger role awaiting her.

Bedi's introduction into the party is the trump card played by party's national leadership. Not only has the Delhi unit got a face to project, but it has helped Delhi BJP unit reconcile from the failure of last week rally at Ramlila Maidan. Friday meeting also appeared to be an end of road for all the Chief Minister hopefuls of the party.

The awaited CM also hijacked the women safety issue being raised by Aam Admi Party (AAP). While AAP has only been blaming both Congress and BJP for having failed to make Delhi safe for women, the former cop also came up with a solution, giving her principle of five Ps. "Five Ps can make the system work and the city safe," she said. She also spoke on social revolution, civil defence and clean India campaign.

Unlike AAP, which in its 49-day rule in Delhi remained extremely critical of Delhi police, Bedi who was once a close aide of Arvind Kejriwal, had a different view. "Don't feel threatened by the police.

Work with them," she said.

After AAP expose of Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay's power companies, Bedi being unofficial anointment as Chief Minister of BJP has changed the mood of the party in Delhi.

Bedi's entry into the party at this time has also brought an end to all infighting within the Delhi BJP unit. It is also a strong message to all senior leader eyeing for the chair of Delhi. While the party high command has decided not to pitch a CM face before the election, Bedi made it sufficiently clear that she was the one.

In all probability, Bedi is likely to contest either from Malviya Nagar or Dilshad Garden assembly seat.

Delhi BJP incharge Prabhat Jha who was also present in the ceremony said that Bedi's entry into BJP has added to AAP discomfort. Without naming AAP or Kejriwal, Jha said, "One party in Delhi will now have sleepless nights. Delhi will teach them a lesson for their betrayal,"

he added. Former AAP member Shazia Ilmi and singer Anand Raj Anand were also introduced into the party on Friday. Ilmi who was aspiring for a partyticket from RK Puram assembly seat will contest from one of the Muslim dominated seat from the Chandni Chowk Lok Sabha constituency.
