Calling the intolerance debate a 'non-issue' on Sunday Bhartiya Janata Party's MP Subramanian Swamy said that repeated defeat has left the Congress party with nothing to talk about, therefore it has now brought up the topic of intolerance.

Swamy was in Pune where he delivered a talk on the topic 'Intolerance: Reality or illusion'. Apart from criticising the Congress, Swamy also spoke about Hindutva and constructing the Ram temple at the event.

Coming down heavily on Congress, Swamy said, "The party that imposed emergency is now complaining of intolerance. Their workers are even protesting against a movie based on emergency because they do not want people to recall those days."

Referring to the CBI inquiry on P Chidambaram, Swamy claimed that eventually all senior leaders will be behind bars for corruption. "Gandhi family members, Chidambaram, and Shashi Tharoor, all of them will be sent to jail. Time will come when their executive committee meeting will be held in Tihar jail," he said.

Speaking about the issue of Ram temple, Swamy said, "Even if I am called communal, it will not stop me from constructing Ram temple in Ayodhya. I do not need government backing for it. The court is likely to give its verdict in our favour by Diwali."
