In an apparent bid to dispel doubts from the minds of Muslims about Yoga, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh asserted that Yoga should not be linked with any religion.

Leading Yoga enthusiasts in his parliamentary constituency Lucknow, Singh sought to clarify doubts that Yoga was related to Hindu religion only. “Yoga is an ancient art of lifestyle which purifies mind, body and soul. Today 46 Islamic nations have accepted it. The fourth International Yoga day was celebrated in 192 countries on Thursday,” said the Union Home minister, who was the chief guest at the Yoga day function, organised at the UP Raj Bhawan.

Singh claimed that credit goes to the PM Modi for his ‘cultural diplomacy’ to make Yoga popular across world and get it global recognition from the United Nations.

“In the US, Yoga has become a life-style. Even in majority of the Islamic nations are adopting Yoga as a way of life. When Yoga has got acceptance world over then why link it with a particular religion?” he asked.

Governor Ram Naik, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his entire Cabinet participated in the program at Raj Bhawan to celebrate  fourth International Yoga Day.

Sporting a saffron T shirt (his first public appearance in a T Shirt), CM Adityanath exhorted people to take out half an hour for doing Yoga to keep themselves fit.
