Intelligence warns of more terror attacks in Punjab, J&K

Amid the rising tensions along the Line of Control (LoC) and International Border (IB) with Pakistan, the central intelligence agencies has alerted Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir police, paramilitary forces and other law enforcement agencies about possible terror strikes stating that 'four terrorists infiltrated Punjab from Pakistan'.

As per the alert accessed by DNA, "ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence, the intelligence agency of Pakistan) is planning a major terrorist attack in the area of Kathua in J&K, and Gurdaspur and Pathankot of Punjab."

The intelligence agencies further pointed out that four terrorists have infiltrated into Punjab through Bamial sector in Pathankot district a few days ago and have plotted to carry out terror strikes. "They are waiting for supply of arms and ammunition to be provided by ISI to strike," the alert stated.

It further noted that Pakistan-based agents have hired a drug courier to hand over the consignments of arms and ammunition to these terrorists through Bamial Sector within next five days.

The intelligence agencies has asked police forces to take all necessary preventive and precautionary measures to thwart terror attacks and identify the four Pakistani terrorist hiding near Pathankot district.

The intelligence agencies has also started issuing specific alerts about terror strikes. Earlier this week, the agencies had given specific input about terror attack in Bandipora. The attack on a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp in Bandipora was foiled because of the input.
