While the spirits of party workers are high after win in Tripura, West Bengal BJP leadership wants to formulate a blueprint for upcoming Panchayat polls.

On Tuesday, the party's senior leadership will meet to draw up a plan for Panchayat polls where at the top of the agenda would be means to deal with the 'state-sponsored violence' which party leaders apprehend would be unleashed on them.  Along with that, block and frontal leaders would be asked to make people aware about the 'corrupt practices' of the ruling regime as well as the fact that welfare projects of the Centre are being 'hijacked' by the state and rechristened by them.

A new catchline to counter  Mamata's 'Ma, Mati, Manush' slogan has been coined which is 'Ma Akranto, Mati Roktatto, Manush Nirjatito' (mother attacked, soil blood soaked, people subject to violence'). The slogan will also be approved during the meeting. Sources said that although there are scepticism at the ground level as to whether former TMC second-in-command Mukul Roy should be kept in the committee for panchayat polls, senior leaders are satisfied with the way Roy, an  ex-TMC Rajya Sabha MP was attacking TMC. Leaders at the grassroot level also believe that many of the 'newcomers' in the party who have toed Roy's line would get Panchayat ticket.

On Sunday, BJP state general secretary Sayantan Basu said that there was no set formula for getting a party Panchayat ticket and that several factors including acceptability of the candidate among people and his or her chances to defect to other party would be considered seriously before allotting party ticket.

BJP took out victory march at several places of Kolkata on Sunday to celebrate the party's success at Tripura. Senior leadership, however, were divided in their opinion about such celebrations. While some of them believed that celebrations will boost the morale of party workers here, others thought that a win in Tripura should not be a reason for such grand celebration.
