The press statement issued last night said, an internal audit report of the state government has pointed out unadjusted amounts sanctioned under National Health Mission (NHM) since 2006-2013-14.

The statement said, Mission Director of NHM has been directed to visit the office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and verify the records and take appropriate actions.

The audit report, made available to press showed that from the year 2006 to 2013, Rs.32, 2586526 was sanctioned by NHM, but adjustment of Rs. 5,5670923 was only available and the rest amount had no proper account.

Former Minister and prominent leader of opposition Congress, Birajit Sinha said, his party would launch a statewide movement unless proper inquiry was done and the guilty officials were given exemplary punishment. The Congress activists had gheraod, the CMO, Alik Dewan on October 17 for four hours to press for furnishing the proper report.
