Indore has hit New Year celebration mood. It is time to stock savouries and drinks. And, what is the choice for the common man? Either spend thousands at a hotel or organise a party yourself for few hundreds.
However, the majority may just eat or taste softies. Because, December 31 falls on Tuesday and hard drinks are forbidden for the pious.
Past midnight, it is okay to binge as Wednesday sets in from 00.00 hours and it will be January 2014.
“Tuesday definitely happens to be concern when many would wait for the clock to strike past midnight, and then initiate their drinking sessions--for which many would have stocked liquor well in advance”, said one of the director of a distillery, who did not wanted to be named.
“There are many who will not be going to the hotel venues but will be organising party and have already booked liquor orders for the new year with us. There are companies which have come up with a special celebration packs”, said one of the retailers talking about the company promotion on the New Year theme.
“To avoid a last minute rush the bars take the orders well in advance and therefore take their orders two days before”, informed Lucky Singh Director, of Oasis distilleries.
Meanwhile, youngsters are trying are fixing party venues.
“Instead of spending Rs 21000 on a party which includes liquor and good food , we have arranged a party for a small group at a friend’s house. We will spend money that will be the amount being asked for two passes at hotels but 15 of us will enjoy at our party,” says Abhishek Srivastav, sales manager of a pharmaceutical company.
