Several areas in the city witnessed power cuts late Wednesday evening after moderate to heavy rains lashed the city. Mercury fell down by a few degrees while life was thrown out of gear at several places with commuters facing tough time reaching their homes due to the rains.
Power cuts were witnessed in Aerodrome, Nandanagar, Annapura and Collectorate Road areas. Technical staff from Western region power distribution company was seen fixing the snags till late in the night.
On Wednesday, maximum temperature in the city was recorded at 20.6 degrees Celsius, five degrees below normal, while minimum temperature was registered at 14.6 degrees Celsius, 5 degrees above normal.
According to the met department, the city will remain overcast on Thursday too and there is likelihood of mild to moderate showers in the next 24 hours.
