Indore: One-sided love affair lands man in police custody

Expressing his feelings for a woman colleague cost a young officer of a private company dear as he landed in the police net on Thursday.

The accused Piyush, works as deputy manager with a reputed automobile manufacturer in Pithampur. In-charge of We Care for You (Indore police’s anti harassment wing), Jyoti Sharma told dna that Piyush had a soft corner for a woman colleague and used to send her messages and videos.

“The girl had initially asked Piyush not to send her messages but as he persisted, she filed a complaint with company seniors. Though there was nothing obscene in the content sent by Piyush to the girl, but it disturbed her to such an extent that she became extremely stressed. Even though a departmental inquiry is on into the girl’s complaint, she has resigned from the job and is currently serving a notice period,” Sharma said.

As the accused did not stop expressing his emotions to her, the girl eventually approached We Care for You and filed a complaint.

“We took help of technical experts to extract messages and videos sent by Piyush and arrested him on Thursday,” Sharma said, adding that the ‘one-sided lover’ was handed to the Annapurna police after the arrest.

The complainant is also a resident of Indore.

An officer from Annapurna police told dna that the person arrested by We Care for You was being questioned and a case would be registered under relevant sections of the IPC after the questioning was complete.
