Minister of State for Power Jyotiraditya Scindia on Thursday said Indore has become the crime capital of the state, but assured that a Congress Government will bring new hope for the people of this region, if voted to power.
Addressing a rally here, he accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Madhya Pradesh Government of filling their coffers by misusing schemes meant for the people.
“Indore has now become the crime capital of Madhya Pradesh. All the schemes sent by the Centre, be it IIT, IIM, these BJP politicians are filling their coffers, and the people have nothing with them,” he said.
“If the Congress forms a government here, it will be clear that it is the government of the poor, it will be the government of the youth, and a new hope will be brought for the people of Madhya Pradesh,” he added.
Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, party General Secretary Digvijay Singh, and Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath were also present at the rally.
Earlier in the day, Gandhi addressed a rally at Rahatgarh, and said that the Madhya Pradesh unit of the Congress Party would relieve the people of their misery as soon as it was voted into power.
“The BJP’s brand of politics is practiced by certain select individuals. …When the Congress comes to power here (MP), it will be a government of the common man, of the women, of the Bundelkand youth,” he said.
